Community Report - February 2024

First of all, I have an important announcement to make. On Monday at 08:00 UTC there will be a temporary service shutdown to move to a backup server. This will hopefully take 10-15 minutes. The backup server is partially ready, but will need to reload files and database. Second announcement: news will be published in English only. In the new version I will add support for new languages and possibly add AI translations.

This month, 111 new users joined us and 179 new apps were added. In total, we managed to complete 4,889 tasks to promote mobile apps on Google Play and App Store. We now have 343 active users. Of these, 160 of them have already reached Level 4+ and are now getting 2+ tasks per day to promote their apps. This week I would like to congratulate users: sweak, pheedsta, olegphenomenon, guy, William Ferrante, Kenny Gonçalves Schimitt for getting their first 10+ installs to promote. I would also like to congratulate users: Fernando, Bug Boos, Yabune Momos for getting 25+ installations. Users: Golf Caddie Pro, SbDevv with 50+ installations and Dhiraj Kumar Saikia, Markus Schütz with 100+ installations. Special congratulations to Claudie A for getting 200+ installations.

I'll talk a bit about the development of the new version of Community. This week I've been writing code for various underlying systems such as Dispute, Coins, Verification, and Reports. I also started integrating these subsystems with the new version of notifications and email sending. I'm already feeling burnout from the constant coding, but hopefully I can hold out for another month to finish the development. Probably the hardest thing about developing such a service is that you are alone and there is no one to help, advise or do some of the work. You have to solve all the current problems yourself. There are also constant bugs and failures in the current version, which accumulate because there is no time to fix them. This is me about processing and saving screenshots, which sometimes are not saved, so if a "Dispute" was opened for this reason, please send a screenshot again.
