This week, we fixed a bug that allowed users to disable or delete basic tasks like "Install". I'd like to explain in more detail why these tasks are critical and how they differ from tasks like "Review" or "Rating." On platforms like Google Play and the App Store, it's prohibited to submit reviews or ratings without actually installing and using the app. Even if you manage to bypass this rule, their algorithms constantly monitor user activity. If they detect such a review, your app may receive a shadow ban — which is far worse than a simple removal. We’ve discussed this topic before, but since new users are constantly joining us, it's worth revisiting the core principles of mobile app promotion.
Installs are the foundation of promotion. The longer an app stays installed on a device and the more often it’s used, the better its ranking. That’s why all "Installation" tasks have the "Loyalty" mode enabled by default — it extends the app's lifetime on the device and encourages repeated usage.
Reviews and Ratings come next. Our algorithm only suggests leaving a review to users who have already installed and used your app multiple times. This increases the likelihood that the review will pass internal moderation, become visible to others, and positively affect your app’s stats.
Additional tasks boost engagement. Tasks like "Play/Use" or "Ad View" further increase interactions with your app, which are also tracked by the platforms and help improve visibility.
In conclusion: Only a comprehensive strategy combining various task types and traffic sources remains effective — even as Google Play and App Store policies evolve.
